This course is designed to provide an introduction to multimedia and the multimedia industry. You will obtain skills in a variety of multimedia software and gain knowledge of the multimedia industry. This is a great entry-level course for beginners in multimedia who have basic computer knowledge.
When you successfully complete the course, you will be awarded the Diploma of Multimedia. This course is nationally recognised as part of the Australian Qualifications Framework.
You will have high-level skills in the multimedia industry.
After this course, you can continue on to higher levels of study or apply for higher-level technical, design and managerial duties in digital media industries. Some of the types of jobs could include: Multimedia Developer, 2D Animator, Digital Video Editor, Multimedia Consultant, Sound Engineer, Web Developer, Web Designer, managing small projects.
You will be eligible to apply for higher level courses, such as the Advanced Diploma of Multimedia. Successful completion of the Diploma of Multimedia can also provide excellent pathways to tertiary study including credit transfers for some units in the Qantm Degree programs.
Approximately 23 months of part-time study (7-10 hours per week). Full-time study is also available for Centrelink-assisted students – please ask for a full-time timetable when enrolling.
This course is delivered online and allows you to study from any location worldwide, at the times that suit you best, and is ideally suited to full-time work commitments or school students. The online course is flexible and is self-managed.
$6200 if whole course paid upfront, $6762 if paid unit-by-unit. Some units may also require you to purchase a textbook.
You will need to have access to a computer and the required software, with internet access. Please download the hardware/software list. Upon enrolment, you will receive a confirmation letter which should assist you in obtaining educational discounts from hardware and software retailers.

A mixture of exercises, quizzes and assessment will be used. Assessments are uploaded to Qantm Online and feedback is returned to you via email. This qualification requires you to show that you are competent in all parts of the course.
There are no set educational requirements to apply for this course. You can apply if you are at least 18 years or have finished year 12 or equivalent. You should have a basic familiarity with computers.
