Certificate III in Media

The certificate III in Media offers two streams of specialisation - Screen & Media and Interactive Digital Media.

The Certificate III in Media (Screen & Media)

This stream is designed to provide an introduction to animation and its related industries. You will obtain skills in a variety of digital media software and gain knowledge of the screen and media industries including audio and video editing. This is a great entry-level course for beginners in animation who have basic computer knowledge.

The Certificate III in Media (Interactive Digital Media)

This stream is designed to provide an introduction to interactive digital media (multimedia), graphic design, audio and video and the digital media industry. You will obtain skills in a variety of digital media software and gain knowledge of the digital media industry. This is a great entry-level course for beginners in digital media who have basic computer knowledge.

Course overview

What qualifications will I receive?

When you successfully complete the course, you will be awarded the Certificate III in Media. This course is nationally recognised as part of the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Where and how can I study?

This course is delivered online and allows you to study from any location worldwide, at the times that suit you best, and is ideally suited to full-time work commitments or school students.

Students will be enrolled in a cluster at the beginning of their course and provided with login details to access the resources for the course.

Students will have access to a range of interactive learning resources including video tutorials, forums and blogs and gain continual support and feedback from their Qantm instructors.

How much does the course cost?

$1000 per cluster, there are four (4) clusters of study for this course.
Total course cost $4000

Payment must be received at least two weeks prior to each clusters commencement.

What hardware/software do I need?

You will need to have access to a computer with the required software with broadband internet access.

Upon enrolment, you will receive a confirmation letter which should assist you in obtaining educational discounts from hardware and software retailers.

How long is the course?

Full-time study is 1 year, Part-time 2 years.

The course is made up of four clusters (semesters) of study.

Please note this is not a self-paced course. Students will be provided with a timetable at the commencement of their study with start and end dates for each cluster of units. Please make sure that you can commit to the time requirements of the course. If competency is not achieved within the set dates, additional charges may apply - including repayment of the full amount for the units not yet completed. Please make sure to get your enrolment form and payment to us at least two (2) weeks prior to intake date to ensure your enrolment is processed in time for commencement. Late enrolments may not be accepted.

How will I be assessed?

A mixture of exercises, quizzes and assessment will be used.  Assessments are uploaded to Qantm Online and feedback is returned to you via email and the online studies system.  This qualification requires you to show that you are competent in all parts of the course.

All assessments will have set due dates that must be met. As the course is competency-based, students will have up to three (3) attempts/submissions for any assessment. Additional charges may apply if competency has not been achieved within the 3 attempts.

How do I apply?

There are no set educational requirements to apply for this course. You can apply if you are 15 years or older and wish to acquire basic multimedia skills. You should have a basic familiarity with computers.
